Our Process
We’re a small, family run business and pride ourselves on providing personal experiences for our clients, building quality homes that are well-managed, hassle-free, and cost effective.
Let‘s look at each stage you will go through when you build with Nixon Homes.
Let’s talk!
First off you’ll meet with Cameron, our site and project manager. This initial meeting is to get a feel for your plans and build aspirations, as well as your goals and budget. We’ll talk you through the process at this initial meeting.
Design
Along with Cameron, together we will turn your design ideas into a house plan. This may take several meetings to get the plan just right. During this phase you will also have access to our colour consultant and interior designer.
Quote
We knuckle down a fixed price, based on the final house plans and design specifications – down to your tapware! We will be there to guide you through these decisions with as little or as much help as you require. This stage will take a good few weeks to ensure we can meet all your aspirations.
Contract
Once we have decided on the design specifications and final house plan we will present you with a fixed price and a master builder contract, this will provide you with peace of mind throughout the rest of the project.
Consent to Construction
Alongside our designer, we will apply and manage the building consent (and if needed resource consent) process for you. Once building consent has been granted by the council, the real fun starts! We kick off construction, supporting you through the process and communicating regularly with build updates.
