We are thrilled to walk away with two regional Gold wins & a spot in the Top 100 at the 2022 House of the Year awards hosted by the Registered Master Builders Association, in Hamilton.

“We are so pleased” says Mike Holmes, Co-Director and Co-Founder of Nixon Homes. “The team always aims to achieve really high-quality builds for our clients, so it’s great to get these two wins and for the team to receive this recognition alongside so many great builds.”

This prestigious House of the Year competition celebrates building excellence in New Zealand. It awards the best homes and builders and the craftsmanship behind them.

We entered two builds this year after winning a Silver for our Show Home in 2020.

Our first entry won Gold in the “Up to $500,000 build” category and was awarded a place in the Top 100 finalists. This home is located in Ngaruawahia. It is made up of a series of connected gables that pays tribute to a classic barn form that punctuates the landscape and outlook over the Hākarimata Range and Mount Taupiri.

A large lifestyle home in Te Kauwhata was our second entry which won Gold in the Altus Window Systems New Home $750,000 – $1million category. This home was based on our show home, with a number of add-ons such as the combination of Linea and cedar cladding, oak panels in the kitchen and bar area, a bigger main bedroom with ensuite, and triple garaging.

A big thank you to our clients who allowed us to enter their beautiful homes this year. We are exceptionally proud of the wider Nixon Homes team and the homes that we produce for our clients.
